Kennedy Mine, Jackson, Amador County

The Kennedy Office, circa 1930 is the Kennedy mine office, location of the suoerintendent's home and the retort room. It was constructed in 1908, and, with the headframe, still stands on the slope of Humbug ridge.

"This is the Kennedy Mine House where all the gold was taken to process into gold bars before shipping to the mint. The handsome "mine office" is today being renovated to historic standards. It contains many interesting museum displays showing how the mine operated. Ovens have been rebuilt, materials used in assaying have been uncovered and are on display along with scales and other memorabilia

The Kennedy Gold Mine has gone through a metamorphosis in the last few years, changing from what looked like an abandoned property into a thriving historical attraction.
