Central Eureka Mine, Sutter Creek, Amador County

The Central Eureka's Mine Crew

The Central Eureka Mine pumping station was 2,000 feet below ground . These were used to pump the water out of the mine. These pumps were required to operate constantly in order to keep the water out of the mines.

Central Eureka's battery floor showing the stamp mills. These stamp mills were built by the Knight Foundry. Ore was fed into the stamps from the back which made the ore into slurry. The ore then flowed over the tables you see in the front. Photo is c. 1929
