    Monteverde Store Museum

    In May of 1898, J. Monteverde with son James began construction of the building on Randolph street for a grocery. This would become the Monteverde General Store. It was opened as a Museum in 1992.

    Continuing down this street (Gopher Flat Road) and making a right on Broad Street you will see the
    Historic Grammar School on your left. From there walk down Randolph Street and the Monteverde Store Museum will be on your right.



    Sutter Creek Grammar School

    The two-story brick schoolhouse was probably completed and furnished by the start of the new school year in September of 1870, at a cost to the community of $10,000. The Sutter Creek Grammar School is #61 on the Sutter Creek Walking Tour Brochure available at the Sutter Creek Visitor Center and Museum.

    The Sutter Creek Brewery stood on Hanford Street (Where the glass blowing place is today). The Brewery was owned and operated by John Raddatz.
