    J.J Capetanich of Sutter Creek, well and favorable known throughout Amador county, has opened a garage business on Eureka Street in Sutter Creek. "Cap" is an expert mechanic and previous to going into business for himself was connected with the firm of Chisholm and Socal for seven years.


    The building occupied by "Cap's" Garage is one of the old landmarks of Amador County and was erected in 1858. It was the first foundry and machine shop in the county and was operated by Fuller and McAdams.

    General auto repairing will be done by Capetanich, and he will also carry a line of tires, tubes, and supplies.

    The Amador Record and its editors salute the men and women of the Sutter Creek Fire Department who now stand at the front of a long line of men and women whol served Sutter Creek and Amador County for over 135 years, and the Sutter Creek Fire District for its support of the Sutter Creek Volunteer Fire Department since 1905.

    George Allen, one of the original members of the Sutter Creek Fire Company, organized August 30, 1869

    George Allen also operated a lumber yard, which either stored or produced an average of 200,000 board feet. The location for his lumber yeard was behind where the Auditorium is today and once was the Fagan's Livery and feed, with its carriage shed next to the creek.
