Fire Commissioners Duly Elected Monday.
CAUCUS FRIDAY NIGHT.
Fred Werner, C. E. Jarvis and Frank Soracco Chosen
Pursuant to the notice given in this paper last Thursday, there was a caucus meeting of citizens at the office of W. L. Rose Friday night. E. C. Voorheis was chosen chairman of the meeting and H.W. Wood secretary. The results of the diligent work of the retiring fire commissioner, W. L Rose, C.E. Richards and W. E. Downs, was discussed and their efforts complimented.
Nominations were then in order for fire commissioner for the enacting term and the names of C. E. Jarvis, Fred Werner
and Frank Soracco put forward. The chair appointed a committee composed of W.L. Rose, C.E. Richards and H.W. Wood to fill any vacancies that should occur on the tie et or elections board.

Telegrams were sent to Jackson and Amador City requesting that whatever fire hose they had should be sent over, and in response a crowd from Jackson at once started, and the hose from the county seat was in Sutter, in 20 minutes fro the time of starting, and did good work in preventing the spread of the fire amoung the dwelling houses in the rear of Beebe's store. The hose from Amador was quickly on the ground, with a strong force from that town
