    LITTLE KNOWN AMADOR CITY FIRSTS

    The creek, the town, and the county all take their name from the same man, Jose Maria Amador, explorer, rancher, and miner. Amador City situated on the Mother Lode, where it intersects by Amador Creek seen miles north of Jackson. The creek being mined soon after the discovery of gold.     HISTORIC AMADOR CITY
    Historic Amador City still in many ways remains as it was in the mining days! Enjoy the history this small mining town has to offer

    AMADOR WHITNEY MUSEUM
    The Fleehart Building is probably Amador City's oldest building, circa 1860s or earlier. This is now the Amador Whitney Museum.

    KEYSTONE MINE
    Founded in 1851 from many claims. One of the most profitable and longest running mines. Joining with South Spring Hill Mine working till 1942.

    This arastra located in the courtyard behind the Koehler Bakery Building was reassembled to its original use for historic display.

    AMADOR CITY CEMETERY
    The Amador City Cemetery is located in Amador City. From hwy 49 - North on Church Street, 1 block west of the Imperial Hotel
