LITTLE KNOWN AMADOR CITY FIRSTS

The creek, the town, and the county all take their name from the same man, Jose Maria Amador, explorer, rancher, and miner. Amador City situated on the Mother Lode, where it intersects by Amador Creek seen miles north of Jackson. The creek being mined soon after the discovery of gold.
