Kriston-Upton,Dick provided the following information.
"I talked with my Mother about the Shenandoah Valley home, and she remembered the following information.
She thinks that the property was originally government land which was taken up by the Sharp family. Mother's grandmother, Fannie Leventon, told of seeing, as a child (1870's) the
three room Sharp home being built. Later taxes etc. were not paid and the Sharp family lost the property. Mother,s father, J.N.Perry rented the land for a year or two and purchased
it from Roos Brothers of Plymouth around 1920 moving into the home with his wife Ada and my mother Helen. J.N. and my father, A.C. Upton, built the barn and other farm buildings on
the property. Some of the logs, etc. that they used were brought down from the Perry home place at Bredgeport near Mt. Aukum."
