This is what I, Dean Dal Porto D'Agustini, remember about living in this home and on this property with my parents, August
"Gus" and Elvera Dal Porto.
"My grandparents Alessio and Assunta Dal Porto and their small son August, came to California from Lucca, Italy around 1895
looking for a better life. They lived in various areas in California, before settling in Amador County about 1900. They and their four children ran a boarding house for the minewrs
in the New Chicago-Bunker Hill area.A few years later they homesteaded on property in lower Shenandoah Valley off of Fiddletown Road and started farming."

"A few years later the property in Shenandoah Valley known at the Ruoff and Baufhman ranch came up for sale, so my
grandfather purchased it so his sons would have more acreage to farm. When my father Gus returned from his military service he married Elvera Del Carlo and settled on the part where
the home he, his brother and father built in or about 1921."
