Three brothers lived all their lives in the Shenandoah Valley. They had two ranches. The ranch home was located off Steiner Road and is now owned by Milan and Vivtoria Matulich. The
old home there was carefully taken down, board by board, and has been rebuilt. One of the sheds is still standing.

The Stewart brothers never married. They did not own a car. Horse and wagon or horses with a buggy were the only means of transportation besides walking. But in the 1940's they
purchased a 3 ton truck to tranport their ranch produce, and hired a man who could drive it. The man then lived on the ranch and helped with other chores as well.

This is one of the original barn and equipment sheds of the Stewart brothers. Before the Stewart Brothers came, the house and ranch were lived in first by the Satchwell family and
later the Brown families. Mrs. Berthal Crain lived here as did Walter Brown, who were all descendants of the Satchwells To the right is the large sheep and cattle barn on the
Stewart Ranch. Also, above is the small cabin which was used for preparing noon meals and for shelter from storms.
