Jameson Family

Across the south fork of the Cosumnes River is one of the oldest ranch properties in the valley. We have included the ranch in the valley boundaries because it has always been accepted, and the Jameson family are consedered to be among the oldest pioneers in the valley. In fact it is belived the the original Jameson owner was responsible for the Shenandoah Valley name, as he is said to have come from some place in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. His bachelor son, Paul, lived and operated the ranch.

The home and barn shown here are no longer lived in, although items are stored in the barn. The main farming land still has some cattle on it, but Twin Rivers Vineyard occupy most of the flat land beyond the house and barn.
