The wife of D'Agostini, Dena Dal Porto D'Agostini has prepared some written material about this early Shenandoah family, as
follows;
"Enrico D'Agostini came to California from Cassolvieri, Italy, to work in the mines. After staying a few years, he
went back to Italy-served a few years in the military service and then married Caroline Fanelli. They both came back to California and settled on the property known as the Uhlinger
property. On this acreage was the house and winery. They planted more vineyards and operated the winery, plus raising sheep, goats, and cattle. They raised their eight children and
as they grew, they helped with whatever needed to be done. In 1940 the home was remodeled as it looks today."
