Rustic logging camps deep in the woods were different from those of the West’s mining centers. The camps moved with the timber falling.

Horsepower and wooden rails had their place in the woods. Wooden rails were forerunners of things to come. .

 

 

Loggers were slow to accept change and often made do with what was available and within reach of their pocketbooks
