The Old Ione High School is located at the end of Mills Street. Turning on Mill Street from West Marlette, you will see this school at the end of the road.
The Ione Academy, Amador County's first high school was established in 1902. In 1905, a class of seven students became the first to graduate from this school.
The Ione Railroad Station was a bustling place when the trains were running. The Central Pacific Railroad Company operated the Amador Branch Railroad from 1876 through 1885.
You will see the Scully, also known as the Marlette House traveling down West Marlette. Having no other evidence to determine the age of this home, Etta and Bob Scully, for instance, have and do use an architect's educated guess of when their Marlette home was built. This being some time near 1857
Clarence Warren Swain, a well known carpenter and architect constructed this bridge that once spanned over Sutter Creek in Ione.
