One of the oldest ranches in the Shenandoah Valley and one of the most secluded is that owned by descendants of the Votaw family.

 

 

Cattle are grazed among the old buildings and since the ranch does not border any road, it is seldom seen. It probably has been more than 50 years since anyone lived on the premises.
