The Kennedy and Argonaunt Mines were two of the deepest and most productive gold mines in the United States. Together they produced
$60 million in gold from the rich quartz veins which lie beneath the surface.
The head frames and mine buildings can be seen from various viewpoints.
Visit the Amador County Museum for more information on the Argonaunt and Kennedy Mines.
